Ocean City Maryland Complete Travel Guide to Hotels, Golf, Real Estate & Beach Trips and Vacations
Ocean City Maryland Complete Travel Guide to Hotels, Golf, Real Estate & Beach Trips and Vacations This is where we stopped on the way home. I was following my in-laws. They wanted popcorn. I had no map. My father in law said "Hey, ya got down here without a map, whattya need a map for?" They insisted that this was not far out of the way because our route led right to the Garden State PArkway. I wondered exactly what bridge led to the Jersey Shore from Delaware, not really recalling any. I picked up a Md. map at a rest stop and traced Rt. 1. "Hmmm. . .this bypasses the ferry, (I thought to myself), and tracks up to Philly and the Jersey Turnpike. Why'd we get off Rt. 13?" Of course the map cuts off most of N.J., so I am figuring my in'laws have discovered a bridge of some sort further to the east: What do I know? I'm still the "new guy" here as far as this family unit is concerned. Why raise a fuss? They said nothing about taking this ferry here. Why would they take a $$$ dollar ferry over what looks like a two hour sea ride? Needless to say, about thirty miles away from O.C. my mom in law told us to be ready for the bridge, it'd be coming soon, near Rehoboth Beach. I looked at my poor excuse for a map and then my bro-in-law, Vinny came on the walkie talkie as the realiztion dawned on me."Hey, Mom thought the ferry was a fucking bridge!" He was bummed cuz he's 19 and has a new girlfriend awaiting his arrival after a week apart. He also had to be at work at 5:30 a.m.I was a little put out cuz I was tired of driving. It was five thirty pm and we'd been on the road since 9 a.m.We should have (theoretically)been HOME by this point. Instead my wife's dad booked us all a passage on. . .
