Went last night. My buddy Tom got some free tickets from his taskmasters, S&P. Third base upper field box; I like these seats much bettter than the ones closer to the field. The sight lines are much better and you don't have to constantly shift around to see around the boneheads who "need" to get stuff for the first two-three innings. Anyway, it was great seeing Tom, and after the second inning, Andy, and after the sixth Jon. Plays of the night: first play of the game, Freel hits one down the left field line, tries for second. LAstings Milledge says "Oh no you didn't" and guns him down with room to spare. Set the tone, I must say. Trachsel hits one out! After working the count to 3-2 and fouling off pitch after pitch. Valentin attempts an inside the park home run; sure looked like he had it as he rounded third, but he lost a hella lot of steam in the last 90 feet. Interesting. . .Valentin's brother was catching for Cincy. COuldn't figure out why he didn't barrel him over until the FAN confirmed my suspicions. More Interesting. . .It was two years to the day that I saw Trachsel pitch against the Tigers in a Sunday Father's Day game. That was the day my lovely wife let me know that our beautiful son Gabriel would be arriving in February. (I may have news of a similiar nature soon).
